1. Crochet Kaleidoscope
Crochet Kaleidoscope is currently my favorite book of crochet motif patterns. So far, I have made 6 AMAZING projects that were inspired by this book, and I have plans to make a few dozen more.
This book has three major selling points. The first: There’s a spectacular variety of different shapes presented in the book. For example, really good crochet octagon patterns aren’t easy to find — and this book has them, along with beautiful and well thought out circles, granny squares, hexagons and flowers.
The second: There are finished projects included in this book, and they are all simply spectacular.
The third: This book contains lessons in color theory that are written just for crochet enthusiasts — unlike most color theory books, which are written for graphic designers, web designers, artists and interior designers. So if you are perplexed about how to choose the best colors for your crochet projects, this is a book you absolutely need. I highly recommend it!

2. Clever Crochet Squares
Clever Crochet Squares is a brand new crochet pattern book that gives you a fresh and inspiring take on an old familiar favorite: the crochet granny square. The patterns in this book are innovative for their use of color. Instead of simply using one color per round to crochet your grannies, this book will show you how to use the tapestry crochet technique to make interesting multicolored patterns that are totally intriguing.
The patterns in this book have a vintage, retro look about them. They’re totally contemporary and up to date for 2020, but some of them look like they could be straight out of the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
If you enjoy crocheting granny squares, but you want to try something a little different than the typical granny square patterns you see around, I think you are likely to LOVE this book.

3. Seamless Crochet

Seamless Crochet is a motif pattern book by Kristin Omdahl. It is both a technique book and a crochet pattern book, giving you a collection of tutorials and patterns on the topic of how to do join-as-you-go crochet motifs. For the cost of the book, you also get a DVD which gives you even more insight into how to do the technique. This book also gives you instructions for completing a variety of different motif patterns using this technique, plus symbol crochet charts, written patterns and a variety of different projects you can make using the motif designs. There’s a whole lot of value packed in this volume; I highly recommend it.
